Current work

I work within the Environmental Information Data Centre  (EIDC) Research Programme, mostly under the EIDC-1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 topic objectives of the CEH Delivery Plan. I have been working for CEH for six years.

Current work is centred around development and testing the imminent CEH Information Gateway, a new discovery tool that will provide access to records of all CEH research data. The gateway will be the primary means of enabling CEH to meet its legal obligations with respect to Environmental Information Regulations and the EU INSPIRE Directive.

I am facilitator for data management planning of informatics projects (e.g., Information Gateway, Countryside Survey 2007) and work with the CEH Archivist to provide description and access improvements to the physical collections archive.

Brief CV

Recently I was responsible for research data capture and rescue from scientists at other CEH sites, for inclusion within the planned gateway.

Before that I was part of the CEH communications team as Knowledge Management Officer (2004-2007), where I acted as CEH enquiries point of contact, studentships administrator, consultation and parliamentary questions coordinator, research proposal submitter and Freedom of Information Act administrator
